This 15 hectare property is situated on Santo Island. The farm has rich volcanic soil. Only three hectares are currently planted, leaving approximately 12 acres of land perfectly fit for cultivation or grazing.

There are approximately 1,500 organically grown vanilla plants ready to flower in 2007.
Currently Vanilla is selling for around $87-00 per dried kilo and each plant is expected to return 350grams of dried vanilla.
There is also a market for the green vanilla beans.

Also planted on the land is over 20,000 kava plants, ranging in age from just a few months to 19 months if age. After 3 years Kava plants can produce anywhere between 3-12 kilograms - selling locally for around AUD$4-00 per kilo. The price of kava has risen sharply over the last 12 months due to the imminent and current shortages as well as the strong demand both locally and overseas. |
